Youth’s gift for the citizens

On a gloomy and cold Monday evening, volunteers of the Klaipeda Association of Youth Organizations “Apskritasis stalas” (KLAS) gathered at the Klaipeda Bus Park to implement a wonderful initiative. The youngsters brought festive mood in the dull daily routine of public transport.

From the early Tuesday morning, 19th December, the festively decorated bus No 8 rolled out to the city streets. For the entire day the bus, decorated with glittering garlands, toys and snowflakes, was a real feast for the passengers sight. Interviewed bus passengers complimented the idea of KLAS volunteers – “What an awesome idea”, “You came up with a wonderful initiative”, “All buses should be decorated like this during the festive season”.

However, KLAS volunteers did not stop after decorating the bus. During the day, the youngsters donated gifts, sang and played the guitar on the festively decorated bus.

Edgaras Jefimovas, the vice chairman of KLAS and the main initiator of the idea was pleased with the excellent work of volunteers. “We came up with this idea during one meeting. I am very pleased that we succeeded in implementing it. We would also like to thank the Klaipeda Bus Park, for without their blessing we wouldn’t have succeeded.”

After cheering up Klaipeda citizens and giving them an extraordinary gift, KLAS volunteers hope that more similar initiatives will be realized in the future.
