At May survey of 14-29 year olds in the city revealed interesting and unexpected results that allow them to answer these questions.

  • Are young people in Klaipeda politically literate? Literacy appears to be mediocre, but varies widely across policy areas. Unfortunately, local self-government finds itself at the “bottom” of political knowledge.
  • What serves young people as sources of information on political topics? Perhaps somewhat unexpectedly, the information leader is not social networks, although the latter are beginning to oust the family as a shaper of the political worldview.
  • What is the impact of local media on the political literacy of young people? Ogi is fun and a bit unexpected!

We will tell you about all this and more:
Artur Koltunov (KUSS), coordinator of the Platforms of Dialogues, and dr. Jaroslav Dvorak.
Research coordinator political scientist Gabrielė Burbulytė-Tsiskarishvili (lecturer at KU Department of Public Administration and Political Science)

The presentation will be followed by a discussion on youth interest policy. We invite you to join.
